The name Calyan (pronounced cal-yun) is a made up word. It's a combination of California and our founder’s mother’s name, Vivian. Both California and Vivian played a key role in the inspiration for Calyan. Fun fact: Calyan was originally going to be “Calyan Chocolate Dipping.”

Ingredients & Sustainability
We pride ourselves in being an eco-friendly company. We care for our great earth, deeply. Soy wax is clean burning and comes from a renewable source unlike paraffin wax (a bi-product of the oil refinery process) used in some of your most notable candle brands. Plus, our soy wax is sourced from the U.S.A. baby.
Phthalates have historically been used to dissolve raw materials in the fragrance manufacturing process. There have been claims of phthalates causing certain health problems. To eliminate any risk, Calyan Wax Co. uses only phthalate-free fragrances.
Our safe and non-toxic fragrances are a blend of fragrance oils and essential oils. Most candles on store shelves only have fragrance in them and do not have essential oils.
All of our fragrances are approved safe and non-toxic for candle use by the IFRA (International Fragrance Association). IFRA is the gold standard for fragrance safety.
All of our UPS shipments are carbon neutral!
We use recyclable packaging (cardboard and paper) for all our shipments.

I bought Evergreen and Eucalyptus twice. Absolutely love the scents, but I wanted to try something different so I ordered Lavender and Bergamot. So disappointed. There is no scent. Waste of money. Wish I had stayed with Evergreen and Eucalyptus.

The watermelon + prickly pear candle is the BEST smelling candle. It has a strong scent but it isn’t overpowering. I love knowing that these candles are non toxic!
